The Problem: Daily manual export of Magento sales data
A B2B ecommerce company had a staff member spend nearly 4 hours every day logging into Magento, applying filters, and exporting sales data to spreadsheets for further processing. The company operates across the UK (management and sales), UAE (operations), and China (purchasing), requiring daily reports to stay aligned. The process was repetitive and error-prone.
The Solution: Python Selenium script for full automation
This solution cut a daily 4 hour reporting task down to 5 minutes using my Python script delivering business-critical Magento sales data to teams across the UK, UAE, and China without delays or manual effort. Saving over 80 hours of manual work per month ensuring timely, error-free reporting while freeing up the team for higher-value tasks.
I built a headless Python script using Selenium that automates the login, navigation, filtering, and data export processes from Magento’s admin panel.
- Handles secure login
- Applies required date filters and report criteria
- Downloads the CSV and sends it to a shared folder
- Optionally notifies the team once the report is ready
